We respect your privacy. Any and all data we retrieve from your device through Fog of World won’t share to us or third-party services.

Personal and Sensitive Information

Fog of World only requires access to your location data. None of any other personal and sensitive user data is accessed, used and collected. And none of your data will be shared.

Location Data

Fog of World collects your location data to enable recording your tracks even when the app is closed or not in use. Your location data is collected only when the recording mode is on, and you have the option to either accept or refuse Fog of World having access to your location data. If you choose to refuse allowing Fog of World to access your location data, you are not able to record your tracks. The collected location data is only used internally by the Fog of World app and does not transmit nor share with thrid-party your location information unless you choose to sync your data with your own cloud storage accounts.

Cloud Storage Usage

For Dropbox, OneDrive, Nutstore, and iCloud. Fog of World requires the “App Folder” permission, which means your data will be put in a sandbox and Fog of Wolrd only has access to that folder.

However, since Google Drive’s “App Folder” permission doesn’t allow users to access the “App Folder” directly. Fog of World requires Full Google Drive access so users can upload their GPX or KML files and import them to Fog of World later. Your Fog of World data will be stored in Google Drive’s “/Fog of World” folder and Fog of World only reads and writes that folder. None of other folders will be touched by Fog of World.

Here are the more detailed policies of Google Drive usage. (The same rules apply to other cloud storage as well except that your data is stored in the sandbox App Folder)

Accesses

Only the '/Fog of World' folder at Google Drive's root is accessed. No any other folder will be touched.

Uses

Fog of World uses the 'Fog of World/Sync' folder for backup files and uses the 'Fog of Wolrd/Import' folder to allow users to upload track files so tracks can be imported to the app later.

Stores

Fog of World stores your backup files in the 'Fog of World/Sync' folder. No other folder will be touched.

Shares

We don't share any of your data. We don't even have a server to keep user's data.
